eivissa 22 draws on Ibiza's original house music scene: a place where people danced freely from night into day, as if no one were watching. One of its defining venues was Space, which opened in early summer 1986 and ran until 2016. On opening night, guests could also enjoy Aguamar, the water park behind the club, including its waterslides after dark.

Space rose to prominence in 1989, when Ibiza nightclub owner Pepe Roselló took over the venue. Because Spanish licensing laws required clubs to close for at least two hours a day, Space became known for parties lasting up to 22 hours. Near the airport, its open terrace was famous for aircraft roaring over the music, with crowds cheering each arrival as part of the experience.

House music and festival culture are now global, but for many, Ibiza remains their spiritual home.
